For large format tiles 18 by 18 inches and larger you can actually get away with very tight grout lines of 1 16 inch or even 1 32 inch usually created by the lugs. A tight 1 8 grout space will allow the pattern to flow nicely from one tile to the next. The unique shim like design allows wedges to be pushed in or pulled out to adjust the position of tile up to 1 8 in while also holding the tile in place. This creates a smooth final space that looks like solid tile.
